I’ve told you before that I love my job. I know not everyone does, and I know how lucky I am.
My job in public media has taken me from the steps of the state capitol and into the farm fields of central Pennsylvania. I’ve appeared at events dressed as WordGirl and on live television with Curious George. And now I can add radio producer to my resume.

Eeeek! That was so neat! I’ve been saving this post until I finally just now had a quiet moment to listen. Loved hearing your voice, you sound like you belong on the radio! Looking forward to hearing more in the future. I’d be interested in a piece about local/regional specialties in your part of PA, i.e. things that could be found in your neck of the woods that might not be too well-known elsewhere. Congrats!!
Thank you for your kind words, Amy! And also for the topic ideas. I’d like to do a piece on apples this fall — there’s a really fantastic festival nearby. As for other regional specialties, perhaps cheesesteaks, pretzels, or whoopie pies?
I had a huge grin on my face the entire time I listened to this … how exciting!!! I’m not going to share it with my dad because his big dream for me was to be on NPR, and it would be additional proof that, sorry Dad, that isn’t happening! Keep it up, Emily… live that family dream for me! hee hee.
