Everything Happens for a Reason

“Everything happens for a reason,” is what we’ve heard from both of our mothers this week.

On Monday Nick prepared to interview for a job we were confident he would get — a job in the place we want to be.

On Tuesday he got the offer! Right after they changed the location.

On Wednesday we walked through every possible scenario and chased each with a fresh chocolate martini. We talked about commuting to our respective jobs from a central location. We wondered if we should move further west and whether I could find a job I enjoy half as much as the one I have now. We even dreamed about buying a Victorian mansion and running our own Bed and Breakfast.

Today we prepare to drive through as many communities as possible and learn as much as our heads can handle before we make a decision. Did I mention we have less than a week to make that decision?

And so while we weigh the pros and cons and face the realities, I invite you to fantasize. Would you be a guest at our Bed and Breakfast? I promise flavored coffee and fresh scones.

  1. Most definitely! This place looks amazing! My friends and I were just discussing what we’d do other than our current careers and a B&B was mine (that or a catering company :)!

  2. I don’t know if I believe that everything happens for a reason. I don’t really know what I believe. But here’s what I know: that is a pretty amazing-looking place, and you have just the right kind of adventurous attitude! Good luck!
