Merry Moments

There were so many wonderful holiday moments that passed far too quickly …

  • Watching Andrew and Nick sip Woodford Reserve whiskey at Rollie’s Tavern (a.k.a. the Rowlands’ bar)
  • Crowding into Grammy’s kitchen to eat burgers on Christmas Eve
  • Receiving Christmas money from Mom and Dad to put towards our first dance as Mr. and Mrs. Wiley
  • Listening to Grandpa trick Nick into answering almost every question with “I do,” and then saying “you can do better than that!”
  • Drinking numerous White Russians prepared by my expert father
  • Calling the Wileys in San Diego to wish them a Merry Christmas
  • Receiving this message from nephew Sean: “Hi … I’m playing with the gift you got me … Bye.”
  • Preparing dinner for the Rowlands’ family as part of their Christmas gift … and witnessing the frenzy that took place near the finish
  • Beating Nick and Mike at shuffleboard in Arlington
  • Realizing that I’m marrying a bargain shopper; he found not one, but two, cozy sweaters at 75% off
  • Drawing on the tablecloth at Macaroni Grill with my sister and fiance
  • Singing with the Rishel Rock Band
  • Dropping clothespins into a milk jug at the Rishel Christmas party; Grandma is a pro
  • Crying while watching Marley and Me and thinking I haven’t heard so many sniffles in the theatre since Titanic
  • Enjoying Dave’s home brewed pumpkin ale while catching up with the Turocys
  • Discovering the Hofbrau House with Nick and eating our way through four authentic German courses
  • Sharing a curling iron and clothing with Laura
  • Ice skating and eating pizza with my cousins
  • Ringing in the New Year with my best gals and my love
