Welcome to the Family

Samuel is one lucky little man. He has family and friends from New York to Alabama to Germany who stayed up late on September 25th, anxiously waiting for news of his arrival.

He has a Mommy and a Daddy who dreamed of his birthday and whose love for each other and for him is infinite.

And he has grandparents and aunties who will spoil him all the days of his life.

Sam’s first full day of life was a celebratory one. Not only did we celebrate his health and his absolute adorableness, we also acknowledged Nick’s 29th birthday with gifts and homemade chocolate peanut butter cake. And, as if baby boy wasn’t a wonderful enough gift, I got a surprise of my own: a stunning blue topaz David Yurman necklace adorned with sapphires, the birthstone of both my boys. I am so spoiled! But Nick said I deserved it. Okay, I did work pretty darn hard to bring Sam into this world.

Speaking of my boys, the excitement of the day soon caught up with them, and they were both passed out by early afternoon.

I didn’t mind the quiet, though. I could stare into this face for hours. And I did.
