Sam is such a popular man — everyone wants to meet him and hold him and snuggle him. Can you blame them, though, with a face like this?
Uncle Andrew Woodford visited when Samuel Woodford was just a week old. They may have even snoozed together while watching college football. We’re so thankful to have Andrew back in the states and can’t wait to visit him in his new apartment in New York City.
The following weekend Aunt Kiwi visited. Sammy may be her third nephew, but that doesn’t stop her from spoiling him! She also watched him for a few hours while Mommy and Daddy ran around town picking up things for baby boy. Oh, and she made the most delicious roasted butternut squash soup for us one night. Recipe to come!
Next we hosted Auntie Laura and Stephen. We watched football and read books and took Sam on his first hike. The boys played frisbee golf, and the four of us played Farkel after we put the little one to bed.
Sam also had visitors from State College! Our friends, Steve and Heather, drove down one evening to meet the little guy. I think they’re already planning their next visit.
Then, this past weekend, just before Sam turned one month old, we spent five days visiting family and friends in York and Lancaster. He was such a good little traveler!
First we went to Great Grandma Martin’s house to meet her and see Uncle Jim and Aunt Vicki. Grandma spoiled Sam with her hugs and spoiled us with a festive fall dinner of crab macaroni and cheese with stewed tomatoes and roasted acorn squash with maple syrup and cranberries.
We spent the next few days at my parents’ house where Sam had the opportunity to meet nearly all of his great aunts and uncles and second cousins. He was especially excited to meet his Great Grammy …
and his Great Grandma. I believe the two of them could have rocked baby boy and stared into his sweet face for hours.
Finally we visited with a few of my favorite ladies — Sam’s honorary aunties!
And we can’t forget Sam’s new furry friends. My parents’ dogs took quite well to our newest addition. They’re sweet Goldens, so we really expected nothing less. The older dog, Sadie, was especially curious — and very protective. Every time Sam cried, she rushed over to check in. She also participated in morning playtime.
Nick and I are grateful to have such wonderful people — and animals — in our lives. Sam is already so loved!
I love the way people smile so big when they’re holding a baby. It makes me all heart-warmy.
I do not blame anyone for wanting to hold your little one. He’s precious!
Wow! Definitely Mr. Popular! And definitely cute!
So great that y’all have had so many visitors!! Sam is definitely loved!
So, so precious! Y’all are going to cherish those pictures of Sam with all your loved ones, especially the ones with the Greats! 🙂
What a cutie you have! So great to have all the great first month pics w/ family and friends.
Looking forward to the soup recipe ; )
You guys have really been on the move! Sam is adorable and, understandably, very loved. Great to know your parents have a dog named Sadie too 🙂
What a cutie pie! And isn’t it crazy how many people are willing to come over and spend time doing nothing but hold the baby?!
