To date my blog has been mostly personal. I’m a storyteller at heart, and I write about what’s going on in my life: wedding planning, traveling, food, etc. But I have more to share.
I just returned from Atlanta where I attended the IMA Public Media Conference. I learned about the future of public media: online video, social networks, community participation, and more. I feel rejuvenated about my field and excited to test the waters.
So what are the trends in new media? What works and what doesn’t work? I’ll try to write some posts addressing these questions — mostly to keep myself engaged, but perhaps some of you will be interested, too.
I’ll also try to merge the personal and professional in my other online spaces: Facebook and Twitter. Such outlets are just beginning to be used to push news and events and facilitate community dialog.
Another goal that may take a bit more time to accomplish? Get an iPhone. We’re headed into a mobile world, and I don’t want to left behind. And while I’m at it, I also want a Flip.
But not to worry. I still plan to tell stories.
