Nick and I planned to enjoy a simple Labor Day picnic lunch at Whipple Dam. We packed hot dogs, homemade pasta salad, and peaches. We gathered blankets and books and headed down the road.
Unfortunately, hundreds of other State College residents had the same idea! We could have set up our grill on the corner of a picnic table and wedged our blankets between others, but we decided that the park was too crowded to enjoy.
And so we drove 15 miles back to Locust Lane for our own backyard picnic. The sun was warm and the beer was cold, and we had ample room to spread out on the grass.
Happy September!
