HER PERSPECTIVE
Best Moment: Nick spent the week in New York, and I was so grateful for his return on Friday afternoon. By that point I had eaten an entire pan of brownies and had gone out for ice cream sundaes twice. I don’t even want to think about how much more I would have consumed if he had been gone for another week.
Symptoms: So. Tired. I can’t seem to get enough sleep. I’m waking up about a half hour later than usual, taking a nap after work, and going to bed by 10pm. And I still feel lethargic throughout the day.
Cravings/Aversions: No real cravings or aversions this week. I just don’t have the energy to prepare any food other than cinnamon toast or macaroni and cheese from a box.
What I Miss: I was a bit envious that Nick got to enjoy a beer while watching the Super Bowl. Although he did surprise me with a beverage of my own.
What I Can’t Wait For: Little one has a heartbeat this week, and I can’t wait to hear it’s steady “thump, thump, thump!”
Milestones: Peanut has doubled in size since last week and is almost the size of a blueberry. (Still not quite a Peanut.) Also, little baby arms and legs are developing!
HIS PERSPECTIVE
Best Moment: Business trips are exhausting; coming home to my pregnant wife was certainly the best part of the week.
Symptoms: Starting to feel a bit bloated… having a gourmet buffet available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is dangerous.
Cravings/Aversions: I had a green olive in my salad on Wednesday; I forgot how much I dislike green olives. I’m really craving football-shaped cookies for the Super Bowl — laces out, of course.
What I Miss: Emmie.
What I Can’t Wait For: The Steelers to redeem themselves next year — a bit of a poor showing in the Super Bowl.
Milestones: Still growing in there, not quite looking human yet.
I love reading your perspecitives!
Enjoy the journey. It’s a great one!
I love reading the perspectives from both sides!!
omg around 7-10 weeks I was exhausted. I don’t nap (for a very good reason) and when I was 7 weeks pregnant I used to come home and fall asleep on the couch almost as soon as I walked through the door! Apparently growing a human being is very tiring!
